Instructions
for
- You have access
to both computer labs, writing centers, etc. located on either campus.
- Your mini-papers should adhere to the appropriate standards of
organization, spelling and grammar (i.e., they should be written in complete sentences and
paragraphs, and should have an introduction, body, and conclusion, etc. The writing
assignments will be evaluated, in general, on three criteria: (1) usage of a thesis
sentence, which informs the reader as to what will be the focus of paper, and the
application of at least one of the theoretical perspectives in examining your issue.
Structural Functionalism, Symbolic Interactionism, and Conflict Perspective (these are
presented in chapter one of your text pp.11-16); (2) clarity of presentation [do you make
a point and make it clearly; does your text follow logically in its presentation?; and (3)
the extent to which you use course material relevant to the assigned chapter topics.
- Although you do not have to use in-text documentation,
you should use the APA
FORMAT, FROM THE FIFTH EDITION..
Remember, you need at least three sources (from 1993, at the earliest.)
