This agar includes DNA and methyl green. DNAse is an enzyme which can digest DNA. If DNAse is secreted by the bacteria, this will be indicated by a clear (or slightly pink) zone around the bacteria as the enzyme digests the DNA and disrupts its interaction with the dye. This is observed on the left side of the figure.
