Reading the handbook should be one of the first things you do as a new employee. It is also important to maintain a familiarity with the information. Access it online or download a PDF version. MTC Policies & Procedures and Forms will also be useful.
Helping students succeed may require referrals to the appropriate support offices. On your first day, you may also want to promote the support offices to show that you care about student success. More on first day.

This monthly email is sent out the first week of each month, and will contain resources such as instructional materials, promotion of existing electronic resources, articles explaining an innovative use of technology in education, and notification of upcoming seminars and conferences that might interest you.
